How a Push-to-Connect Fitting Works

Tube insertion and retention

A prepared pneumatic tube is inserted into the fitting until it reaches the internal stop. The collet or grip mechanism retains the tube while the internal seal forms the pressure boundary. Actual retention and sealing performance depend on the fitting model, tube material, tube dimensions, surface condition and installation quality.

Controlled tube release

After the system has been isolated and fully depressurised, pressing the release ring allows the tube to be withdrawn. Repeated reuse should follow the manufacturer's instructions, and damaged tube ends or fittings should not be returned to service without assessment.

Available Connection Configurations

Straight connectors, elbows, tees, Y connectors, unions, bulkhead fittings, male-thread and female-thread versions are common push-in configurations. Availability varies by series and size.

Match tube size and thread standard

PU, PA or nylon, PE and other pneumatic tubing may be considered where supported by the selected fitting manufacturer. Buyers should confirm tube material, outside diameter, hardness, tolerances and surface quality together with normal and maximum pressure, temperature and vacuum conditions. Compatibility cannot be concluded from tube size alone.
