Fuel Hose 10 Bar Overview

Fuel Hose 10 Bar is a softwall rubber hose listed for low-pressure transfer of petroleum products in fuel-line systems. The published construction uses an NBR blend tube, black NBR/PVC cover and high-tensile synthetic yarn reinforcement. Final selection must match the exact fuel, hose size, pressure cycle, temperature, fittings and installation environment.

Understanding the 10 Bar Product Designation

The 10 bar wording identifies the product range but does not automatically approve every hose size or complete assembly for 10 bar service. Confirm the current size-specific pressure data, normal working pressure, possible surges, duty cycle, fittings and assembly method.

The Complete Assembly Determines the Limit

The allowable pressure is governed by the lowest-rated hose, coupling, ferrule, clamp, valve, gasket or adapter. Never use the product title as a substitute for a verified assembly rating.

Fuel Compatibility Review

State the exact fuel name, grade and composition. Gasoline and diesel formulations can contain different levels of ethanol, biodiesel, additives or contaminants. Compatibility of the tube, seals and fittings must be confirmed for the actual product and concentration.

Do Not Assume Compatibility with Every Fuel Blend

A general gasoline or diesel reference does not automatically cover aviation fuel, racing fuel, high-ethanol blends, high-biodiesel blends or other petroleum and solvent mixtures. Provide the latest Safety Data Sheet where available.

Temperature and Service Conditions

Compare the published -20°C to +80°C range with both fuel and ambient temperatures. Consider engine heat, radiant heat, outdoor exposure, pressure cycling and whether the hose remains continuously filled. Confirm whether temperature affects the allowable working pressure.

End Connections and Sealing

Confirm hose bore, overall length, connection type, thread or flange standard, fitting material, sealing method and orientation. Every seal and fitting in the fuel path must be compatible with the selected fuel.

Leak Testing Requires a Controlled Procedure

A competent person should inspect and leak-test the completed assembly using a safe test medium, method and acceptance criteria defined by the equipment manufacturer or site procedure. Keep ignition sources away and never use a flame to locate a leak.

Routing, Inspection and Fire Safety

Route the hose away from exhausts, hot surfaces, sharp edges, moving parts and areas where abrasion or impact may occur. Avoid twist, kinks, crushing and excessive bend. Provide support without placing strain on the fittings.

Before handling, stop the transfer, isolate the fuel source, release trapped pressure and control spills or vapours according to the site procedure. Remove the assembly from service if it shows cuts, blistering, softening, hardening, leakage, exposed reinforcement or damaged fittings.
